I do my thing and you do your thing. I am not in this world to live up to your expectations and you are not in this world to live up to mine. You are you, and I am I, and if by chance we find each other, it’s beautiful. If not, it can’t be helped. -Gestalt Prayer

Life is ever changing and unpredictable at times, gaining control of your emotions and utilizing the ability to effectively communicate on a consistent basis will prove to reduce external and internal stressors, increasing the quality of life on a daily basis.

As a professional counselor, I have been blessed with the opportunity to be trained and educated by professionals with decades of experience, allowing me the opportunity to be placed in therapeutic situations that go beyond the traditional therapeutic setting. I feel that my life experiences has given me the opportunity to understand strenuous situations and the ability to cope with life’s challenges.

Everyone has a story, trials, tribulations, success, failures and uncertainties, how we deal with each situation, shapes and molds us into the people we become and how we influence others.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. I possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology, A Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and a Masters degree in Social Work from Troy University.

“When you change the way you think, you change the way you feel. When you change the way you feel, you change the way you act. When you change the way you act, you change your life. It starts by changing the way you…” –Daniel Chidiac

I have worked as a therapist for Arch Counseling since February 2024. I am a native of Troy, Alabama. My educational history includes receiving my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Criminal Justice from Troy University in 2016. I completed my Master of Science in Counseling Clinical Mental Health at Troy University in 2023.

I believe in an eclectic approach to counseling as no one person is the same. We are all uniquely different and have experienced life in different manners. Everyone deserves respect and care when sharing their stories and struggles. That is what I strive for as a counselor, to provide each individual with a safe space to work through the challenges they face and teach them healthier ways to process and move forward.

From a young age, I knew I wanted to help others and aid in their healing journey. I enjoy helping clients of all ages develop the necessary tools and coping skills to manage various social, emotional, and behavioral struggles. In my free time enjoy reading, riding horses, and spending time with family.

My counseling philosophy is If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl, But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward. –Martin Luther King, Jr.

The thought of assisting and helping others has been a driving force instilled within me since childhood. I
am an outgoing, down to earth person that does not meet a stranger. I am a firm believer that there are no “cookie cutter” solutions to the counseling process as we are all created differently and must be treated as such. My therapeutic strengths are my tenacious and “real world” approaches to counseling, offering simple and clear interventions.

My educational journey began at the prestigious Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL and concluded with the great Troy University. During that journey I obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Juvenile Delinquency and a minor in Sociology, and then secured a Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology focusing in Clinical Mental Health. I have over fifteen years of experience working with youth and families in residential, non-traditional educational, and outpatient counseling settings. I look forward to assisting and helping each client work toward their therapeutic goals.

Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom-Victor E. Frankl.

Choosing our response to daily life situations can be extremely challenging. Our responses to life events can contribute to anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges. What we focus on the most will grow the most. So, directing our thoughts plays an important role in our actions and behaviors.

I believe challenging negative thought patterns and changing the direction of our thoughts and/or behaviors direct our lives. These changes can be positive or negative; the choice is ours. I have a passion for helping others make those positive changes so they can experience and live a positive fulfilling life.

I received my Master’s of Science in Counseling from Troy University in 2013, specializing in Clinical Mental Health. Since graduation, I have had experience working with children, adults, and families. I believe that an eclectic approach to therapy is important. No two people are alike and the life challenges they face are varied as well; therefore, therapy must be different from person to person. I am also EMDR trained. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is proven to help those who have experienced trauma recover from these distressing life experiences. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and love life on the farm.
